Maori Language Week

This week is maori and we are making slides about maori people and I had two buddys that were kinda slow at some stuff but I was still feeling are little confident but then the next day my other buddy wasn't here but it was ok. It was difficult with out my other buddy wasn't but we managed to finish it just in time but the one problem was that we weren't sitting in the same spot so we didn't know what we were bot doing. The next day I thought that my other buddy came but he didn't

Cook Island Language Week

Learning Cook Island Language during Cook Island Language Week is fun.

First in the morning we came to school. Then we were playing. After a few minutes the bell rang and we ran two rounds of runs around the astro turf. When we finished our two rounds of runs we came into class then our teacher introduced us some Cook Island words that were so easy to memorize. Our teacher asked us to say the words that we learnt. Some kids were shy and some other kids were confident to come up and say the words in front of all the kids in the class.

Next we were talking to each other because our teacher told us to. Our teacher told us to practice the words with each other so we can use it with other kids. This is because it’s Cook Island Language week. Cook Island Language week started on Monday and I like Cook Island Language week because you can dress up into your clothes that you wear to church.

Then once we were finished with the Cook Island speaking. Our teacher asked us some questions and if we got the answer right then we got to open the cabinet. Christian was the first boy to be questioned when our teacher gave him a question. He got it right. The question was the same because some kids didn’t know the words so we had to help them.

Finally everyone got the question after we got our chromebooks our teacher told us to do Recount writing about the Cook Island words that we learnt. Some of the words we learnt were -  Kia Orana, Pe’ea Koe, Meitaki Au, Akape ‘ Ea Koe. Our teacher wrote on the board for us to learn so it's easy for everybody.

I was so happy because it was Cook Island Week.

Matariki Celebration

On Friday we had a hangi and we had a Matariki display. Before the haungi started we were looking at the different displays in each class. In each class there were kids that told us about what the displays are about. All the displays were creative Room 6 were doing the gods of the sky, the ground, the plants and all of that. My favorite class display was room 6 because it was so creative there were doing it for two or three days to finish it. I really liked it because they were using kebab sticks to keep it creative.

Next we went to Rooms 2 and 3. They made fish shape letters. It was creative for the ages of 5 years old kids because they are small so I was surprised that they were so neat at coloring. Then I thought that my favorite displays from the junior’s were room 3 and 2. after we went back to our class. After that we did padlet when we do padlet we sometimes do little but most of the time we do lots because our teacher tells us to.

After we were done our padlet the bell rang. Then after we had to go to the restroom. When we were finished in the restroom we walked in the hall to have our hangi. After we had our hangi we had a little play on the junior park because the senior park wasn't built yet so we had to play on the juniors playground playing on a playground felt like a long time because our old senior playground was big like the juniors but ours didn’t have a slide or balance beam or a spinning monkey bars or lots of stuff like that.

Finally the bell rang then we went back into the hall to have assemble because it was friday and every friday we have assembled but sometimes we don’t have assemble because Mr. Hendricks is in an important meeting. But we did have assemble because Mr. Hendricks wasn’t having a meeting and in plus it was friday and that was Matariki celebration so then the parents stayed for assemble and after Mr. Hendricks finished his speech so than Ms.Tu'akoi came up and she had three or four books in her hand and she said that the people that are getting the books are because of how hard they worked in class and how hard they have been doing it then the next teacher came and told who was going to get the book award.

After that all of the teachers were finished so the Matariki Celebration was over but it wasn’t yet because people were still celebrating Matariki.

I felt so happy because we had a hangi.

Covid_19

Today I made a Covid - 19 poster so that we can stop spreading the virus that we have started and so we can keep the people in the earth safe. When you are with a friend always remember to sanitise your if you want to shake their hand and wash your hands if you touch something that you are not supposed to touch and when you go to the store stay two meters away from someone you don't know . So you don't get sick or you don't make the other person sick and remember to stay safe and not go out to peoples houses and make the virus spread to other people.

My lockdown bubble

     My LockDown Bubble

It means that you can not go into other people’s bubbles because
if you do you can get sick and then you can spread the sickness
around within your bubble.

Your bubble is in your home with your family and with people that you
stayed with from day one of the lockdown.

I started staying in my bubble with my little family of six since day
one of the COVID-19 Virus lockdown.

My mom, my two sisters, myself, my two brothers, and this rule was
made by the Prime Minister and the Government of New Zealand.

We have to stay in our bubble for four weeks until the Prime Minister
said it’s okay to get out of our bubble.

If we break the lockdown rules of going out of our bubble then people
in our bubble can catch the virus and can get sick.

The purpose of this lockdown is to keep our bubble which is our family
safe from catching the virus from other people.

During this lockdown I enjoyed spending time with my family, learning how
to bake and cooking with my mom, doing school work together
with my siblings, exercise and activities.Things I do not enjoy sometimes
are eating and staying in the house.
